Discipleship Training
We have an extensive Discipleship Training Program at the Church of Praise. We are very serious about Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples” and use four different types of groups to help a believer to grow in Christ. These groups are implemented as needed to equip, teach, and train God’s people for the ministry He has called them to. From the time that you first decide you want to become a part of the Church of Praise family and throughout your continuing walk here, we offer training groups to help you grow in Christ, and become a part of our church family. These groups may not be function all the time, but are available as we see the need and have people who desire to participate.
-
Newcomers - Our newcomers curriculum is offered to our new attendees so they can get to know us, and we can get to know them in a small group setting.
- Mentoring - A mentoring group is an intensive discipleship group made up of four people or fewer and led by a mentor. The groups last for up to 24 weeks and emphasize transparency an dpractical applications of biblical principles in daily living. The mentoring relationship is geared toward helping a person understand their strengths and weaknesses so they can move toward finding their niche and ministry.
-
Ministry Training - A ministry training group is focused toward equipping those with ministry and leadership potential. The emphasis is on the character of the minister, servanthood, accountability in ministry, biblical models of ministry, and team ministry concepts. Meetings involve discussions of ministry challenges, brainstorming, individual strengths and weaknesses, and evaluations of fruitfulness, etc.
